Pittsburg

Living in Texas for a long time colors your picture of what America is like... and Pittsburg is certainly almost the opposite of Texas. It almost feels like an industrial town from northern england, except with americans living in it. Pretty much all houses are tiny, and rather old, lots of very atmospheric areas.

The main attraction was architecture, and our primary goal was to see Falling Water, Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous design. I was much more impressed than I thought I would be, it truly is a masterpiece. Absolutely everything down to the smallest details feels integrated with the rest, a prime example of Christopher Alexander's theories on the power of "wholeness" in design. Sadly, photography wasn't allowed on the tour, so just a few quick snapshots.
