Xmas in Ελλάδα

Somehow wherever I go there's news of riots and other problems (see past posts on Thailand/India etc), but Athens was absolutely peaceful, with a wintery calm (hardly any tourists) and absolute perfect 20c/70f sunny days with a gentle breeze. The weather was so good, in fact, that I question the point of going to such a hot place any other time, especially given the amount of climbing we did.

Every country claims their people to be hospitable, but I found the greeks to be above averagely so, often without their own interest in mind. Nikos, if you read this (probably not, you don't look like the kind of guy to be hooked up to the intertubes), thanks for inviting us to your little fishing boat for coffee and shots of Τσίπουρο, we'll send pictures!

Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia was quite amazing, not because it is very new visually (it all looks very similar to northern europe), but because every inch of it looks so cute. The cute little towns, harbors, lakes, twisty roads & cliffy coastlines just never end.

Food went from some of the most amazing lobster and crab to the most horrible deep fried scallops I have ever had.. they inherited cooking partially from the British, I am afraid.

A highlight was a completely restored 17th century fort/village that made me feel like walking around in a video game / rpg.

Arkansas

We had time for a quick road trip, so we spent a few days driving around the twisty roads of north-west arkansas, close to eureka springs.

California

After GDC, I decided to, um, stick around, and spend some quality time in napa & socal with friends.

Blue

We had our house repainted... (before it was green with dirty white). It turned out a bit bluer than we predicted, but still neat.

Snow

This is the most snow I have ever seen in Dallas... some of these shots are taken at night, eerie atmosphere walking around our transformed neighborhood.
